How to Embed Zoom on Your Website

Quick answer: to talk with website visitors, add a chat widget your team answers in Zoom Team Chat (no code, minutes). To host a meeting or webinar on your page, use Zoom's Meeting SDK. For a custom video app, use the Video SDK. To let people join, register or book, use Zoom links or a Scheduler embed.

14-day free trial, no credit card. Zoom product details on this page are checked against Zoom's own documentation as of November 2026.

Which way to embed Zoom?

Start from what you want visitors to do, then pick the method. Effort and cost differ a lot: some options are no-code, others are real software projects.

Method 1 · No code

Embed a Zoom chat widget on your website (no code)

Most teams searching for “embed Zoom” want website visitors to reach the people who already work in Zoom. You don't need to embed a meeting for that. Social Intents adds a chat widget to your site and delivers every conversation to a Zoom Team Chat channel. Your team replies from Zoom on desktop or mobile; visitors need no Zoom account or download.

Set it up in 5 steps

  1. Step 1: Start a free trial

    Create a Social Intents account. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.

  2. Step 2: Connect Zoom Team Chat

    Add Social Intents from the Zoom App Marketplace and approve the Team Chat permissions it requests.

  3. Step 3: Choose a channel

    Pick the Zoom Team Chat channel where new website chats should appear, such as #website-support.

    #website-support✓
    #sales
  4. Step 4: Paste the widget script

    Copy the script from Install Code in your dashboard and paste it just before the closing </body> tag, or use the WordPress, Shopify or Wix plugin.

    <script src="https://www.socialintents.com/api/chat/socialintents.1.4.js#YOUR_WIDGET_ID" async="async"></script>
  5. Step 5: Test it and turn on AI

    Send a test message from your site and reply from Zoom. Optionally add an AI chatbot that answers first and hands off to your Zoom channel.

Move from chat to a Zoom meeting

When text isn't enough, share a Zoom meeting link. An agent can paste their meeting or Personal Meeting Room link into a reply from Zoom Team Chat, or you can set up an AI Action that shows a “Join video call” button with your meeting URL whenever a visitor asks for a call.

The meeting opens in Zoom (a new tab or the Zoom app), not inside the widget, and the chat stays open. AI Actions are included in Pro and Business plans and the free trial.

Let an AI chatbot answer first

Train an AI chatbot on your website and documents to answer routine questions around the clock. When a visitor needs a person, the chat moves to your Zoom channel with its history.

GPT-6 Luna is the default model and is included in every plan. Claude Sonnet 5 and Gemini 3 Pro are also available using your own API key.

Method 2 · Developer

Embed a Zoom meeting on your website with the Meeting SDK

If the meeting itself must live on your page, like a members-only class or a webinar in your portal, Zoom's Meeting SDK for web is the supported route. It runs the Zoom Meeting and Webinar experience inside your site and works with plain HTML and JavaScript or frameworks like React, Angular and Vue.

Client View: full page

Displays the SDK as a full web page that looks much like the Zoom web client. Zoom recommends it for mobile browsers.

Component View: embeddable

Splits the meeting into components you position inside your own layout. Zoom designed it for desktop browsers; it supports core meeting features and may lack some Client View features.

High-level steps

  1. 1Create a general app in the Zoom App Marketplace and turn on Meeting SDK under Features > Embed. You must be the account owner or an admin, or have the “Zoom for developers” role.
  2. 2Add a server endpoint that signs a Meeting SDK JWT with your Client ID and Client Secret, so the secret never reaches the browser.
  3. 3Install @zoom/meetingsdk from npm or load it from Zoom's CDN, then choose Client View or Component View.
  4. 4Initialize the client and join with the signature, meeting number, passcode and the attendee's name.
  5. 5To join meetings hosted outside your own Zoom account, Zoom requires an app review plus a ZAK or On Behalf Of (OBF) token. After approval you can publish the app or keep it unlisted.

Simplified Component View sketch, based on Zoom's docs:

<!-- The meeting renders inside this element -->
<div id="meetingSDKElement"></div>

import ZoomMtgEmbedded from "@zoom/meetingsdk/embedded";

const client = ZoomMtgEmbedded.createClient();
// Signature comes from YOUR server, never the browser
const { signature } = await fetch("/api/zoom/signature")
  .then((r) => r.json());

await client.init({
  zoomAppRoot: document.getElementById("meetingSDKElement"),
  language: "en-US"
});
await client.join({
  signature,
  meetingNumber: "YOUR_MEETING_NUMBER",
  password: "YOUR_PASSCODE",
  userName: "Website guest"
});

Honest effort check

This is a software project: credentials, a signing service, front-end work, browser testing and ongoing upgrades, since Zoom enforces a minimum Meeting SDK version. Zoom also warns that Component View styles can clash with CSS frameworks like Tailwind or Bootstrap. Meetings follow the host's Zoom plan and its limits.

If your real goal is answering website visitors, the Zoom chat widget gets you there in minutes. Zoom sources: How to embed Zoom into a website, Meeting SDK authorization, Component View setup.

Can you embed Zoom in an iframe?

Not the regular Zoom meeting page. Zoom staff have said on the Zoom Developer Forum that embedding the Zoom web client in an iframe isn't supported, and they point developers to the Meeting SDK instead. Even if a join page seems to load in a frame, it can break without warning.

Not supported

A zoom.us meeting or join link in an iframe

Use a plain link or button instead, or build with the Meeting SDK.

Documented

Your own Meeting SDK page in an iframe

Zoom's iframe best practices: serve both pages over HTTPS and allow camera, microphone and display-capture.

Official embed

Zoom Scheduler booking pages

Zoom generates iframe code for booking pages. See the steps below.

<!-- Hosting your own Meeting SDK page in an iframe -->
<iframe src="https://your-domain.com/meeting" allow="camera; microphone; display-capture"></iframe>

Method 3 · Developer

Build a custom video experience with the Video SDK

The Video SDK for web is a separate Zoom product for building your own video, audio and screen-share experience on Zoom's infrastructure, with your own interface. Zoom offers a prebuilt UI Toolkit to start faster.

  • Fully custom, brandable video sessions inside your product
  • Can't join regular Zoom Meetings or Webinars, according to Zoom
  • Usage-based billing with prepaid credits (see Zoom developer pricing)

Choose it when video is part of the product you sell, like a telehealth or tutoring platform.

Method 5 · Enterprise

Zoom Contact Center and Virtual Agent web chat

Organizations that run Zoom Contact Center or Zoom Virtual Agent can add Zoom's own web chat: an admin copies the “Embed Web Tag” from Campaigns in the Zoom web portal and adds it to the site once.

It fits organizations already licensing Zoom's contact center products. If you want visitor chats to land in the Zoom Team Chat channels your team already uses, without a contact center rollout, use Method 1.

Who answers website chat from Zoom

Teams that already live in Zoom use the chat widget to give visitors a fast human answer.

Sales

Answer pricing questions from #sales, then share your Zoom room for a live demo.

Customer support

AI handles routine questions; your support channel takes the rest, with a Zoom call for tricky issues.

Schools and online courses

Admissions and student-help teams answer in chat and share an office-hours Zoom link.

Clinics and practices

Front-desk staff answer scheduling questions and point patients to your booking page.

Agencies and consultants

Turn visitors into discovery calls without a contact form first.

Small teams on the move

Reply from the Zoom mobile app between meetings. Missed chats are captured as offline messages.

Add the Zoom chat widget to any website platform

The widget is one script tag, so it works anywhere you can add custom code. WordPress, Shopify and Wix also have Social Intents plugins or apps.

Embed Zoom FAQ

Can I embed a Zoom meeting on my website for free?

Partly. The Meeting SDK for web is Zoom's supported way to put a live meeting on your page. As of November 2026, Zoom's developer pricing page lists usage charges for the Video SDK, not the Meeting SDK, and embedded meetings follow the host's Zoom plan. The main cost is developer time. The free, no-code option is a Join on Zoom button.

Can website visitors join without a Zoom account?

Usually. Zoom's docs say people joining a meeting in the SDK app owner's account don't need to sign in, unless the meeting requires authentication. With the Social Intents chat widget, visitors never need a Zoom account; if you send a meeting link, they join in the Zoom app or a browser, depending on the host's settings.

Is a Zoom iframe allowed?

Not for the regular Zoom meeting page. Zoom staff have said on the Zoom Developer Forum that iframing the Zoom web client isn't supported and recommend the Meeting SDK. Zoom does document hosting your own Meeting SDK page in an iframe, and Zoom Scheduler provides official iframe code for booking pages.

How do I add a Zoom chat to my website?

Sign up for Social Intents, connect Zoom Team Chat from the Zoom App Marketplace, choose a channel for new chats, and paste the widget script before your site's closing body tag. Your team replies from that channel on desktop or mobile. No coding is required.

Does the Zoom chat widget work on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and Webflow?

Yes. The widget is a single script tag, so it works on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, BigCommerce and any site that accepts custom code. WordPress, Shopify and Wix also have Social Intents plugins or apps.

Can I escalate a website chat to a Zoom video call?

Yes, by sharing a Zoom meeting link in the chat. Agents can paste a meeting link into a reply from Zoom Team Chat, or an AI Action can show a Join video call button when a visitor asks for a call. The meeting opens in Zoom, not inside the chat widget.

What is the difference between the Zoom Meeting SDK and the Video SDK?

The Meeting SDK embeds real Zoom Meetings and Webinars in your site. The Video SDK is a separate, usage-billed product for building your own video experience on Zoom's infrastructure, and according to Zoom it can't join Zoom Meetings or Webinars.

Can I embed a Zoom Scheduler booking page on my website?

Yes. In the Zoom web portal, open Scheduler, select a booking page, click Share, then Add to Website, and copy the iframe code. Zoom lists a paid Scheduler license as a requirement.

Is there a free trial for the Zoom chat widget?

Yes. Social Intents includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. After the trial, plans start at $39 per month billed annually, or $49 month to month.
